Please see the attached flyer regarding the upcoming Petris Lecture scheduled for THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2025, at 7pm at the Sacramento State University campus. We are proud to co-sponsor this event along with the Tsakopoulos Hellenic Foundation to present and hear from the former Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, the honorable George Papandreau.
This will be a very special event to honor the memory of the late State Senator Nicholas Petris and will be the first time this lecture series has been organized by the Tsakopoulos Hellenic Studies Center at Sacramento State under the leadership of Professor Katerina Lagos (who deserves all the credit for organizing this event). A reception will follow. Will be great to have a nice contingent of MGSF Board members and friends present for this special event.
There will be another occasion to hear from the Prime Minister when the UC Berkeley Center for Modern Greek and Hellenic Studies hosts a reception in Berkeley on THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 2025, in the afternoon. A separate notice regarding that event will also be sent.
The Petris Lecture is a free event held in the Hinde Auditorium in the Sacramento State Student Union, 6000 JED SMITH DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95819 and is open up the public. Free parking is also provided in Faculty Lot#6. Contact me with any questions. Let me know if I can expect to see you there!
