Beginning in 2021, the Modern Greek Studies Foundation has underwritten fellowships for doctoral students at UC Berkeley pursuing research in Hellenic Studies during summer residencies at the renowned Institute for Mediterranean Studies, based in Rethymno, Crete. The fellowships are under the direction of the UC Berkeley Modern Greek and Hellenic Studies Program. Students return to campus and present the results of their research. The Foundation is proud to support the efforts of these young scholars to explore, study, and share their knowledge in the many disciplines that encompass Modern Greek Studies.
